Psychiatry Reimagined.

We are all self-aware beings having a mortal experience.

Stress from life experiences and the external environment causes living organisms to carry strain. This state of body disequilibrium generates suffering. Suffering from stress can manifest in emotions of fragmentation: tension, sadness, shame, and grief.

The goal of our treatment is to advance health and flourishing by generating balance in the neural, endocrine, and immune systems to treat psychiatric illness. Through treatment with thoughtfully combined tools, patients can discover a sense of meaning, wonder, and self-understanding.

We live in an age of anxiety stemming from social, political, and ecological crisis. The healing process from treatment at Aaram Health provides greater stability and perseverance through periods of uncertainty and change.

Founding Physician

About Treatment

Mental health is physical health.

Our motto is medicus tractare, natura sanat – the physician treats, nature heals. The treatment approach at Aaram Health seeks to first deeply understand the patient and their context, including their medical history, cultural and ethnic background, and their sense of spirituality.

Depth psychiatry aims to be a minimally-invasive approach to the psyche, as deep as tolerated but no further, in order to advance the well-being of the patient through processing and metabolizing emotions.

With the foundation of a deep and understanding relationship between patient and clinician, we determine together the best pathway forward. We aim to use thoughtful diagnostic assessment and range of tools to promote healing, including integrative psychotherapy, coherent breathwork, and molecular neuropharmacology.

The Aarām Treament Method

  • Attunement

Attunement involves receptive listening, observing affect and rhythm, and feeling and mirroring emotion. Our therapy seeks to understand the client’s perspective, thinking, and what gives them meaning.

  • Field

In a field orientation, relationships between individuals co-influence each other’s subjective experience. The dynamic flow of matter–energy and information in the field organizes and reorganize the field with infinite degrees of freedom. Fields form spontaneously and require an attitude of present-centered, “cultivated uncertainty.”

  • The Stress Axis

Stress human beings experience is processed through a central system called the hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal (HPA) Axis. This system, sends out neurohormones to organ systems in the body. When the HPA Axis is out of balance, this can cause changes in bodily health and the way we respond to life experiences and transitions.

  • Neuroplasticity

Neurons are cells that carry essential electrical information across across our body. Neuroplasticity refers to a neuron’s capacity to grow and form new connections. Promoting the growth of new neuronal connections can promote positive shifts in emotional processing.

  • The Transcendent Function

Through opening a dialogue between the conscious and unconscious mind, psychological growth is possible. Through a welcoming exchange between conscious and unconscious, the possibility of reframing pathology from the past on new terms becomes possible.
